Now for some female fronted action from a Midlands-based act that wins fans over with its grunge infused pop that also resonates with fans of metal, alternative and rock. Formed in 2010, this band is set to perform at the Kasbah on August 6th and then with dates in Leicester, Oxford and Birmingham throughout September and October.
Live, expect your attention to be drawn to the charismatic charms of lead singer, Lischana Lane. She has all that spunk and vocal power that would strike a chord with the femme fatales of late 90s Britpop and Punk. Reviews have labelled them energetic, heavy, pulsating, professional, and above all, bloody good.
Unapologetically influenced by the Seattle Scene of the 90s, The Black Tears draw inspiration but carve their own mark to the revival of the Grunge movement.
“They call what they do ‘grunge-pop’, which is not a bad word for it. Accessible songs played with a sound that lies somewhere between heavy rock and garage, rather than harking back too directly to early 90s Seattle, but it has that dark, dirty vibe. It’s loud, it’s heavy, it’s melodic, it’s well played and it’s distinctive: what are you waiting for

With a love for music they came together in a rock n roll way. daz (liam) has the ego and charisma of liam 100% swagger and attitude! “LOADED DOG” mikeyb (noel)BEST GUITARIST IN THE MIDLANDS. has all the answers, and plays the guitar like he’s ringing a bell, sounds exactly like noel! “NME” PENTON (BONEHEAD) fantastic rythm player he is a young bonehead in a nutshell! BURDETT (ANDY BELL) probably one of the finest bass players in leicester!
“I saw thier feet tapping and heads begin to nod before they started dancing. I then watched as the congregation converted to the power of live music as The Mighty Gyrators drove home the benefit of thumping covers with religious ferocity.”
With reviews like that this local band will be sure to have the cosby crowd gyrating with a medley of rock and punk.
Coalvilles near-legendary kings of sleazy glam rock ‘n’ roll have been together since march 2010 and have been shocking and amusing audiences ever since. The Serpents Of Sound always try to put on a show, wigs and outrageous costumes are very much the order of the day and there is stiff competition between band members to out-do each other when it comes to the spandex and leather! The band are:
Hate Hades, a towering frontman in 5 inch platform boots, whose voice sounds like he’s been slugging back JD and smoking since he was 12, prowls around the stage like a tiger stalking his prey. His between-song banter with the ladies in the audience is the funniest thing you will hear all year!
Hairwick Solid, has been Hates guitar buddy for 25 years, he wrestles with his Telecaster like Crocodile Dundee wrestles reptiles and is “a rock god” His guitar sound is to die for!
Jonny Stongbone, awesome lead guitarist who was at one time “The face of British snowboarding” in his own words “has done a hell of a lot of doing” pays incredible attention to doing it right! The man just knows how to ROCK!
Houdi Lovemuscle, powerhouse drummer whose rock solid timing and no-nonsense down to earth attitude keeps the others feet on the ground, no mean feat, I can tell you!
Randy T. Rousersnake, solid bass player who likes nothing more than to settle down of an evening with a nice cuppa and listen to an album of 16th century folk songs and sheep calling airs. Also likes to morris dance in the summer months!
While they may have humourous aspects to their image and stage show, the music is deadly serious, they never mess around with the songs and deliver the goods with aplomb! Having said that, each and every song will have been “Pythonised” in some way, to make it sound like no one else.
Acts covered include:
AC/DC, Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Joan Jett, Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction, Billy Idol, W.A.S.P, & The Rolling Stones.
Iron Python are a unique and exciting experience that won’t be forgotten quickly by anyone who see’s them!

Stereophonics tribute band, Stereosonics are one of the top acts coming to Cosby on 6th of August. They have proved their act in the phonic’s home town, and recieved praise from Kelly Jones own parents.
“It was rather humbling to hear other people giving such a passionate performance of our son’s songs. We spent many years following the Stereophonics before they even became them, and now to hear people like you paying tribute to them, and people we have met at concerts who are as passionate about the band as we are. There’s a new album out in November, if you get it, hope there’s a few on it you can add to your set list. All the best for your future, we’ve spoke to Kelly and told him about the Stereosonics and that they did you justice.
Take Care,
Beryl & Oscar”
Cosby local council has declared the village a Hoff Free Zone. Due to this unforseen circumstance we have to announce that David Hasselhoff will not be playing at CosbyBigLove – music in the meadow – 2011. The multi platinum number one hit performer (In Germany!) was greatly dissapointed at the news stating that
“it is actually more miserable than New Orleans was after hurricane Katrina”.
Unless the Hoff ban situation in the village is resolved, in the near future, David Hasselhoff will not be attending.
We are close to confiming the headline acts for CosbyBigLove 2011. Tickets will go on sale shortly after, sign up to our news letter to be among the first to find out whos playing. Tickets are limited and expected to sell out, so get yours early
